I have been asked many times why I write. I have also been asked if I know that being a successful writer is harder to achieve than perhaps, winning the lottery. I do know that being successful like Stephen King, J.K. Rowling, Ted Dekker, and many others will all be attributed to timing. It will matter if the world is ready for me yet. That is what will determined on if I am successful.
"Why I write" is much more indecisive. Today I am writing this post to share my feelings. Ten years ago I wrote because I was fully in love with a fantasy that could never happen and escaped in a world not my own. Tomorrow I write because I want people to see a world that my mind has created that is full of whimsy and fantasy all while looking like the world around us in reality.
I write fiction to share the mystery. I write nonfiction so that I can share what worked for me.
